There have been two cameras used in taking the images on this website, namely a Canon EOS 1 with a 17-35mm f2.8L lens and a 75-300mm IS lens. All of the travel pictures were taken on either Fuji Velvia rated at 40 ASA or Fuji PROVIA 100F and then scanned using a Minolta Scan Speed into Photoshop 5.0. The images were shot in colour then transferred into greyscale. Colour slide film holds more information than Black and White negative film, some say up to four times more. The printer used is an Epson 1290, which is reliable and very good. Always set up Photoshop parameters to RGB and print always in portrait mode, this enhances the quality of the print. It is possible to achieve near perfect results if you set up the system correctly between scanner, printer and screen. Screens deteriorate over time, therefore print your work until it is what you want THEN calibrate your screen to that print. Always run print head clean and alignment before every session. The Rangefinder camera now used is the Voigtlander R2 and a Leica M6 with 35mm f1.4 lens. The Voigtlander equipment is manual but is great for street and freestyle photography and has proved worthy of its great reviews. The smoothest camera is the Leica M6 and the 35mm ASPH lens is simply stunning. I have several ASPH Voigtlander lenses, and would like to get the 12mm corrected wide-angle, its a fabulous lens, a classic of the future. I shoot with Fuji Provia 100 or 400F and now scan with the new Nikon 4000ED scanner which is worthy of all the reviews it has received. No matter what equipment you have, always remember its the person that takes the picture and not the equipment.
